Georgia Cosmetology License Requirements
Modern Salon Learning is approved provider of continuing education for cosmetologists by Georgia State Board of Cosmetology.

Licensee may take up to two (2) of the following courses as elective classes:
Credit Hours Required:
Cosmetologist, Nail Technicians, & Estheticians must take five (5) hours of Continuing Education.
The other two (2) hours must be in a course previously registered with the Board in any of the following areas: industry or trade show, health and safety, industry trends, computer skills, business management, or the licensee’s area of practice.
The holder of a license who is renewing a license for the first time is not required to meet the CE requirements.
License expiration date: (6 month late renewal period for individuals who miss the renewal period)
- Cosmetologist - March 31 of even years.
- Nail technicians – August 31 of odd numbered years.
- Estheticians - August 31 of odd numbered years.
Licensees of 25 years or longer may receive a waiver of the required CE. Also, licensees who can prove to the Board that they have a hardship may request a waiver.
To reinstate a license after expiration, the applicant shall pay all fees required by law or rule, including the reinstatement fee, and shall submit documentation of completion of CE hours required for renewal. A license shall be issued upon completion of all requirements of the laws and rules.
