Let’s Get the CE Conversation Going

Let's Get the Continuing Education Conversation Going
Finally there’s a forum to discuss cosmetologists’ continuing education! We specialize in hairstylist online technical training, but our discussion here will go far beyond that.

We’re calling our blog Learning by Heart for a few reasons. First, in the beauty profession you must keep a lot of knowledge in your head. In the middle of working on a client, or when a client asks you questions, you can’t grab a book or pop in a hair cutting class video. So you have to know pretty much everything by heart. Second, as you probably know since you are one, salon professionals are all heart! Most likely you followed your heart when you first went to beauty school, and if your heart weren’t in this you wouldn’t still be doing hair today. Also, unlike most of the world’s more than 100 million blogs that continually get zero comments, we want you to talk your heart out here! We can make it a real heart-to-heart. Okay, I’ll stop.

I’ve been talking to cosmetologists and writing about the wonderful beauty salon industry for a long time, and I’m looking forward to fielding your questions and hearing any views and experiences you want to share with others whose passion is all about hair. The great thing about continuing education is that it keeps you fresh and excited about your craft. We’ll get to the heart of that!

I think it's great to be able to take these classes and demonstrations on the computer. Our days off are so
precious, we can do it whenever it is convenient in the com-
fort of our own home. I've tried it and want to continue.

I took a few of the on line classes of Modern Salon and like them a lot for a few reasons. 1, it showed me how much I knew already and taught me a few new things as well.
Sometimes I had questions on clarifying what was being said and felt that it would be nice if there was a site to ask those questions
such as when doing bonds-with bleach-and they were lifted to a
"gold " stage ( for toning ) are they referring to level 5-ie deep yellow or 6 or 7 on a lighting level chart?
I live in an area that is 2 to 3 hrs away from any salon education
so any info and inspiration I can get is great.
