Katie Holmes' and Beckham’s Bob is a Classic, But Can You Do It?

It’s always exciting to go to hair cutting classes when you know you’re going to learn something brand new. Maybe you’ll use an innovative tool or pick up a cool technique someone developed. But what’s plopping into your chair these days? Probably client after client asking you to do Victoria Beckham’s short, sexy bob. You learned the classic graduated bob at some point, but if you’re a newer hairdresser you may not have ever needed that particular hair cutting training until now.

I was talking about this very topic with Nexxus educator Gary Travis, owner of Travis the Salon in Atlanta. “If you haven’t kept up with the graduated bob, suddenly you can’t do what everyone’s asking for,” he told me. “Or if you haven’t practiced using a curling iron to create movement, you’re in trouble with today’s wavier styles.”

If it’s not Posh Spice or Katie Holmes, it will always be some celebrity or other whose fresh take on a hair style catches on like fire. It’s nice to always be a step ahead. So when you’re signing up for hair cutting classes, you might want to mix in the old with the new. Reviewing what you’ve already learned will really stick with you and allow you to put your own creative spin on classic shapes. Try Modern Salon Learning Geometric Bobs Online Course to refresh your bobs skills.
