Like most females, I couldn’t let Valentine’s Day pass without at least a small salute to the affairs of the heart. There may not be
hairdressers’ courses in how romance impacts your business, but you probably know from experience that it never hurts to have love in the air. You’re there with young girls prepping for prom, with brides on their big day, with older

women celebrating silver, gold and even platinum anniversaries and with all love-seeking ladies for the entire month leading up to Valentine’s Day. Woo, woo!
You’ve toasted with the newly in love, consoled the jilted and commiserated with the lonely. You’ve helped women reinvent themselves with a new look after a divorce and reevaluate themselves before an event with high hooking-up potential like a class reunion. You withhold judgment of the object of their affection and simply share your clients’ joy of loving and being loved. So in honor of all the ways you help romance to blossom, I think I’ll write you a (corny, of course) Valentine’s Day poem:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
And you have more hair colors
Than just those two.
Scissors can cut,
Rollers can curl,
But without the stylist
They do nothing for the girl.
It’s your personality
And your special touch
That makes your clients
Appreciate you so much.
So here’s to hairdressers.
That’s what I have to say.
I wish you success
On this Valentine’s Day.
