I think my last friend who was holding out finally learned how to do email. Could she take an
online hair education course like the ones we offer at Modern Salon Learning? I’m not sure. We present our classes in a format that’s as simple as we can

make it. We have to make the assumption that anyone who needs the courses knows how to access and follow them. But maybe like my friend, some of the staff members working in your salon can barely pull up their own yahoo accounts. Sending attachments? Booking tickets online? Doing a “copy and paste”? Fuggedaboutit!
The need for these skills is no longer personal; it’s professional as well. Salons are moving toward online booking and computerized client tracking. To get complete information about an upcoming hair show, learn about a new product line, research how to solve a client’s problem, chat with other hairdressers or give feedback to anyone in the salon industry, you have to go online.
For people who don’t have a working knowledge of online surfing, pretty soon their learning curve may be too high to mount. So my plea to you who are reading my blog, since obviously you’re able to get at least this far, is to help the next person to become just a bit more computer-nerdy. You know, like you!
