Taylor Swift is the latest young cowgirl to join
Miranda Lambert and
Carrie Underwood (photo here) on the country music charts. So if you get this triple threat of new Nashville royalty confused, you’re not alone; the girls tend to look a bit alike. What’s

nice for hairdressers is that it’s a look in both
hair color and
hair styling that a lot of clients want to copy.
First, let’s clear up the confusion. Carrie’s the former American Idol, Miranda won the first Nashville twist on “Idol” and singer/songwriter Taylor was a 2008 Grammy nominee for Best New Artist. Ranging in age from 19 to 25, all three keep their hair long; they’re lighter or darker as mood dictates but basically go unapologetically medium baby blonde. Harkening back to the tradition of Miss Dolly Parton, it’s the
hair style that these three vocal powerhouses change up frequently as they navigate both the green fields and the red carpet. Other than for the occasional hair updo, their hair texture ranges from bodified straight to lose-wave bedhead to Daisy Mae curly.
Today’s country music covers not just the south but the whole country, and the stars coming out of Nashville appear in all sorts of teen, music and celebrity magazines. If a client walks in wanting the fresh country-girl look, she’s really asking for a versatile style that she can blowdry, flat-iron or curl as she pleases. So mix up some blonde, grab your curling iron and give the little lady what she wants. Yee-haw!
